arvato supports Haiti charity single with free UK-wide CD distribution

arvato – which operates the UK’s largest and one of Europe’s biggest entertainment logistics and fulfilment businesses – is supporting The Sun and Simon Cowell’s Haiti fundraising single Everybody Hurts, by delivering the CDs free of charge to hundreds of stores across the UK and Ireland.

The track, which was recorded in LA and London, features some of the biggest names in UK and American music – Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi, Robbie Williams, Kylie, Rod Stewart, Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Miley Cyrus, Take That, Joe McElderry, Cheryl Cole, JLS, Mika, Michael Bublé, James Blunt, James Morrison, Susan Boyle and Westlife.

The stars have joined forces to record an emotive cover of the REM classic to raise money for charities supporting the relief efforts in Haiti.

All proceeds will be split 50/50 between DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee) and The Sun newspaper’s ‘Helping Haiti’ appeal. Prime Minister Gordon Brown has pledged to waive VAT on the single.

The single was ready for download from Sunday 7th February 2010 and is now available to buy in shops.

Markus Schmuecker Managing Director arvato UK Supply Change Management: "We’ve been working with Sony for many years and, along with our distribution partners – TNT and Target, we are honoured to support this much needed project."
